The 'ins' of search engine optimization:
Internal SEO refers to SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
strategies that you have control over.
External SEO refers to SEO that you don't have control
over, more about that in the next chapter.
The best place to start with Internal SEO is to look at
the following:
- optimizing your web pages for specific 'keywords' or
'search phrases'
- name of pages (page_name.htm)
- title tags
- keyword tags ( not relevant to Google )
- description tags ( not relevant to Google )
- text name used in menu buttons / menu bars
- H1 tags
- H2 tags
- Keywords used in main content (body1)
- repetition of keywords
- optimizing content for a specific term
- site info at bottom of page
- hyperlinks from text in body of page to other
internal pages
- title attribute used in hyperlinks
- text links from your index page to key pages
- sitemap page with links to all internal pages
