Setup Guide V1 (last updated January 4th, 2007)

Designed for the Gen7 Series Templates and Modules

The News Box 1 box is a single transparent background image gif file. The intent of the info box, is to provide a 'call to action' of sorts. A place you can put small amounts of text with the intent on bringing large amounts of attention. You may have 'news' alerts, or some text that you want your visitors to 'see' right away, this is just one idea of the many that will help accomplish that task.

The info box is modified through the (include/Libary) page for quick updates. You can also delete this box from specific pages, and create multiple info_boxes for a specific page(s).

You can modify the info box graphic, as it's simply a transparent gif. Most likely you would want to delete the default boxes, or create more.

Edit the Info box text and heading

  • open the (z_news_box1) folder
  • open the z_news_box1 page

(note) the informaiton you see on the (z_news_box1) page will look somewhat different from the information as it's displayed in the Info box on the actual web pages. The 'Info' box graphic and font styles have not been applied to the (z_news_box1) page. This keeps this a bit easier for updating.

  • Modify the (Heading) text, and make sure the H1 tag is applied to this line of text. Keep the heading short, as the heading is not designed to 'wrap' to the next line.
  • Modify the 'content' of the info box. Place banner ads, text, images anything you like. Just keep in mind the overall width of the info box, and test a web page in browser before you close the z_news_box1 (include / Library) page. (keeping the page open will allow you to use CTRL+Z to 'undo' your edits if they don't quite fit the box when viewed in a browser.
